The Problem

As a Digital Designer for Boxed Entertainment, I was tasked with creating a website and graphic elements for a range of projects, from video games to animations and traditional media. The catch? The projects were all under development, and the company had released very few details about them. My challenge was to create a website with very little content that would reflect the stories behind each project and help the company get its footing in the market. The goals for this product include;

•Define the user / target audience
•Create Branding Guide
•Create graphic elements for each project
•Create slogans posters
•Create YouTube Intro Video
•Design and develop a website
     •Create Copy for each page
     •Needs a page for each project
     •About Us and Contact Us page are needed
     •Video for hero on the home page

The Process

     To tackle this challenge, I first had to define the target user. After discussions with stakeholders, we decided that the typical user would be someone in the millennial generation with children. From there, I developed graphic elements for each project that met their unique needs. For example, I created simple illustrations for the children's books in development, a pixel art graphic for the video game, and images of different baked goods for the cookbook.

     I had to develop a brand identity that would tie everything together. To accomplish this, I first researched the industry and the company's target audience. I then created a logo that incorporated elements of playfulness and creativity, while also conveying the company's commitment to quality entertainment. The logo features a box with a more serious font and a playful font on top to reflect the creativity and seriousness of the company.

     With the logo in place, I then created a branding guide that outlined the company's brand personality, voice, tone, and visual identity. The guide included guidelines for color, typography,  and messaging, ensuring that all future marketing materials and designs would be consistent and cohesive. Once the branding guide was established, I could move on to designing the website and graphic elements for each project.

     The real innovation came in designing the website itself. With little content to work with, I had to find ways to create a compelling user experience that would entice visitors to stay and explore. I decided to focus on the company's name, Boxed Entertainment, and incorporated boxy elements into the design to reflect it.  I kept the design relatively simple, with a fixed navigation to help busy users move around the site quickly.

     The end result was a website that successfully showcased the projects in development and provided an easy-to-use experience for the target user. I even created a YouTube intro video that further highlighted the company's brand and offerings. Through this project, I demonstrated my ability to work with limited content, define the target user, and create compelling designs that meet their unique needs.
